StudCie: Git-workshop

Have you always wanted to have a nice overview of all your coding projects? Not having six different test.c files in your directory, just because you wanted to try something out?
Then attend this workshop, which will teach you about the ease and comfort of Git. Git is a distributed revision control and source code management (SCM) system. It keeps track of everything you have coded and allows you to retrieve older versions of your code.
Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with complete history and full version tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server.
During this workshop you will learn the basics of Git and how to use them for your projects.

StudCie: Trip To Bremen

The StudCie is organizing a trip to Bremen in February! For the low price of €49,95 you will be taken to Bremen (Germany).
First of all you will visit ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, a company specialized in naval warfare. Due to the increase in unmanned vehicles, this company needs CS and AI to create state-of-the-art technology.
The second day we'll visit the university where you get to see what kind of research they do in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The final day we travel back to Groningen, but before we do we are going to visit the Universum. A wonderful place that explains scientific marvels in a fun and interactive manner.

It's been a while, but here it is again, the pool tournament! Try to win the cup by defeating everyone with a game of pool. If you're not that competitive or if you can't play pool that well, you are welcome too of course! We'll see you there!

MeisCie: Valentine's dinner

Valentine's day is the day to expres your love to the one you secretly admire. It is also the day for couples to celebrate being together. This year the MeisCie is organizing an event to start your valentine's day in style. The evening before valentine's day we'll have a special dinner. For only 15,50 euro you get a three course tapas dinner, a popsicle and a drink. Don't be afraid of the word tapas, there'll be enough food so you won't leave hungry. When we're finished eating, there'll be an auction. The money we raise with this auction, will be spend on a discount on the drinks we get afterwards. When you want to join us, note that there is a dress code. We expect you to dress decently. A smoking is not necessary, but a suit or at least a blazer would be appropriate. And for the women: just pick your nicest dress. Don't forget, valentine's day is a day for singles. If you don't have a date that's no problem at all. If you have a boy- or girl friend or maybe a date you can bring him/her with you, even if he/she is not a Cover member! More information will be available on the Cover site soon.
