Horror Movie Night: The Babadook

Get ready to crap your pants, because this time we will be watching a horror movie! We’ll be watching The Babadook (IMDb).

To make it a little less scary we will make sure you will not be alone while watching this movie. We’ll also make sure there will be plenty of snacks to help you keep your nerves under control. And as usual we won’t be doing all this on an empty stomach, as we will order food at the beginning of the evening. We don’t know where we are going to order yet, but we’ll let you know up front, so you can make your order.

Valentine’s day is almost coming, it is time to tell your secret lover the truth! Are you to scared to tell him/her? Let the ActiviTee help you. For only 50 cents we will play your Cupid. In the CACHE, you can write a small note to your lover, and we will deliver it to the right person without him/her knowing it was you.

Even if you do not have a secret lover, this borrel will still be lots of fun! Our theme is red, so dress up with something red and join this lovely borrel with us.

Beta Business Days PRe-Conference

The Beta Business Days are coming up!

Because of this, we will organize a special kick-off event for you on the 3rd and 4th of February! On February 4 we have organized a special PRe-Conference with none other than Dutch science journalist & physicist: Diederik Jekel. Visit our site and sign up for this event!

Après-Ski VrijMiBo

This Friday Cover will organize an Après-Ski VrijMiBo! The Cover room will be filled with the wonderful atmosphere of the mountains, whilst providing you with gluhwein, jägerbombs and other (alcoholic) beverages. So join us this Friday and start your weekend with a bang!

Since Valentine is approaching, we want to invite you to come dine and dance with us. A dance couple will teach you some basics of latin dance in the beautiful ballroom of Het Heerenhuis, so you can practice your skills to impress your secret Valentine on Valentine's day. Because dancing makes you hungry, a delicious dinner is served around 18 o’clock. You can bring your external date.

The Brainstorm is looking for a chairman! The Brainstorm is our association’s magazine, filled with fun and entertaining content as well as serious articles. Are you creative? Bètastuf: Faculty Council Members

As of now, the Faculty Council is looking for enthusiastic FMNS Bachelor and Master students for next year’s council. The Faculty Council represents both students and staff on a level surpassing the regular degree program. Nine democratically chosen council members represent the staff and another nine represent all FMNS students. Subjects that come to your attention vary from the Faculty finances to the Teaching and Examination Regulations, and from Yantai to career services. For all these subjects you provide your valuable and individual feedback during the discussions.

If this sounds like something you want to contribute to and want to know more about, then apply for the new Faculty Council! The work takes about 5 hours per week and there is a financial compensation for your effort. Questions and applications in the form of a small motivation and resume can be sent to the current chairman of the student faction, Vivian Turnbull (socofr@betastuf.nl). (Deadline: Sun 14 Feb.)

Bètastuf: Lustrum Committee Members

Next academic year the Bètastuf will celebrate its 6th lustrum! And for this occasion we are looking for a group of Stuffers who wants to organize events throughout the year to celebrate the lustrum. A budget is available to organize these events. If you are interested in taking up position in a Lustrum Committee, please send an e-mail to bestuur@betastuf.nl. (Deadline: Mon 1 Feb.)
