Crash and Compile

The Cover LANcee and Quintor are organizing a crash-and-compile at Quintor! Join us for an evening of hammering the keyboard as you get hammered yourself. We have collected the finest of programming challenges for beginning programmers and more seasoned ones alike.

Food and beer is accounted for by Quintor. Bring your laptop and a team mate, furthermore your thinking cap — we’ll supply the drinking tab.

Open Board Meeting

This is the second and last chance to join board XXIV in a board meeting to see if you are interested in becoming a member of board XXV! We welcome everyone to one of our weekly board meetings. Experience what keeps us busy and what it means to be on the board. Between 10:00 and 13:00 you are free to join us and hear what we discuss during one of our meetings. Aside from listening you are also free to ask questions.

End of Exams Borrel

We know you need a beer. A beer to celebrate that you have finished all your exams successfully. A beer to banish your thoughts on the resits that will be coming. A beer because you realise you still have to do the exam of Algorithms and Data structures in C (good luck!).

In other words: There is no reason you shouldn’t come. Join us at the borrel in the Tapperij on the 6th of April!

TAB-talk: Happiness

This month’s TAB-talk will be given by Menno de Bree and he wil talk about why it is impossible to become happy.

Everyone wants to be happy. We try to become this through love or work. Menno will talk about why the relation between love and happiness is a difficult one. And how finding happiness in work is hard as well.

Are you interested in his view about happiness? Come join us, and drink a beer. We will provide the snacks.

Member Weekend: Pirates vs. Ninjas

In the weekend after the exams, just before period IIb, the second Cover member weekend of 2015–2016 takes place! This weekend’s theme is Pirates vs. Ninjas. During the weekend we have some cool activities and unlimited food and drinks (including a BBQ!). Besides the activities there’s plenty of time to relax, play games, or do whatever you want.

Board Members 2016–2017

Are you interested in being in the next Cover board? A board year is a very valuable experience and a lot of fun! Besides that it is a great addition to your resume. In the first half of April we organize an open board meeting and an informal evening (with former board members as well) so you can learn what being in the board is all about. We also organize personal coffee moments where you can ask anything to a board member. If you have any questions or if you want to request a coffee moment, contact the board or one of its members directly!

Career Day Committee Members

We are looking for enthusiastic students to participate in the Career Day committee. In this committee the FMNS study associations, the Beta Business Days, and FMNS Career Services work together to once again organise a successful Career Day for FMNS master students, this year on the 1st of December. The Career Day focuses on the skills students need to secure their place on the labour market. Last year 300 students attended.
