AC/DCee vacancy

Do you design websites and know about what is good UX, and want to help make the main site of Cover the best looking and best working website of all study associations?

The AC/DCee is looking for a web designer to lead the redesign effort. We offer knowledgeable programmers and tough critics, but also a high profile website (at least among students) that is actively maintained. Apart from taking lead in the redesign project you are not required to pick up any of the other tasks (unless you want to of course!) Contact us at acdcee@svcover.nl if you are interested.

Beta Business Days 2017

This activity is not organised by Cover The Beta Business Days is a unique two-day career event for all students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Groningen. The event gives the more than 3500 students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme the opportunity to investigate their career prospects and make contacts that could lead to an internship, a thesis project or even a job. A varied programme will bring students of the natural sciences and mathematics in contact with companies with a focus on this area. Companies can deliver a presentation or host a stand to generate brand awareness among the attending students. The general lunch and networking reception will be informal networking opportunities for students and the participating businesses. The programme will also include activities such as case studies/workshops, individual meetings and business lunches for which participants will be selected on the basis of their CV or motivation.

'Murica MxCee TAB

Then attend this workshop, which will teach you about the ease and comfort of Git. Git is a distributed revision control and source code management (SCM) system. It keeps track of everything you have coded and allows you to retrieve older versions of your code. And it makes working together a breeze!

During this workshop you will learn the basics of Git, grap the contents, and how to use git for your next (or current!) project.

Career: High Tech Safari

On the 15th of February, Innovatiecluster Drachten will take you on a tour of their companies and offer you an exclusive peek behind the scenes. You will meet high-tech professionals in R&D departments and at production lines and come face to face with the latest robots and innovative machines. A luxury coach will pick you up in Groningen at 10:45 o’clock. During the safari, you will be provided with coffee, tea, soft drinks, snacks and a lunch. The safari ends with a buffet dinner, where representatives of the organizing companies join you to hear about your experiences during the safari. Besides the general program, you can also choose a special in-depth program on three high-tech topics: big data, vision intelligence and robotics. When you sign up, you can indicate which workshop you would like to attend. Around 20:00 hours, the coach will take you home again.

BEST Real Live Cluedo

Their first event will be on February 22, where you get the opportunity to play real live Cluedo and in the meanwhile get to know the people of BEST both from Groningen and even some from Leuven and Delft! Will you help solve the mystery? Join the event, get to know BEST and have lots of fun! There is no need to sign up, just show up and you can form or join a group! There is no fee!

Do you love the Cover Room as much as we do? Show your love and affection by joining the Memory! As a member of the Memory you have a 2-hour shift each week, where you are responsible for the Cover Room. Beside that you get a say in the interior of the room and you organise Thursday Afternoon Borrels(TAB) and some activities.

The Faculty Council is looking for enthusiastic FMNS Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students who would like to be a Faculty Council member in 2017-2018. The Faculty Council represents both students and staff on a level surpassing the degree programmes.
