The Academic Broadening Committee regularly arranges study-related activities such as lectures, trips to AI- and CS-related companies and institutes, and of course a yearly trip to a city in a foreign country.

Are you looking for a fun and social committee? Do you want to help organize and spice up activities like Borrels, Running Dinners, Game Nights, Pub Quizzes, and other activities/parties? Join the ActiviTee!

Memory

Do you love the Cover Room as much as we do? Show your love and affection by joining the Memory! As a member of the Memory you have a 2-hour shift each week, where you are responsible for the Cover Room. Beside that you get a say in the interior of the room and you organize Thursday Afternoon Borrels(TAB) and some activities.

PubliciTee

Have you seen the awesome posters for Cover activities? They were created by PubliciTee members! The PubliciTee is a creative committee that designs posters and sometimes other promotional material. Do you want to create the next good poster? Join the PubliciTee!

Quintor

Quintor is offering you the unique opportunity to participate in a Summerschool where you get your OCA Java SE programmer I certificate. We take care of the books, the exam and help you on your way during our sessions at the office. Not all day off course, because in summer, you have enough other things on your mind.

The summerschool is from July to August. The programme is spread over 4 days, of which you have to be present at least 3 to be able to participate in the exam. Below are the dates for the summerschool, 18:30 till +/- 21:00:

[Carreer] Lunchlecture: How does Centraal Beheer create value with big data and analytics?

At Centraal Beheer we have a large amount of data available. Our passion would be to track all of it, but then we would be busy with that day and night. We try to go beyond just gaining insights through the data, we also try to use and apply our models in practice, show the added value and to learn from what did and did not work. Our analysts try to impact all the different facets of our company through big data and analytics. On the 2nd of May Yory Wollerich, who is team lead Centraal Beheer Marketing Intelligence, and Diede Kemper, who is intern Artificial Intelligence, will tell you more about the cases and problems we are currently focused on. With free lunch, so see you there!

Borrel: Glow hard or go home!

Glow hard or go home! This time during the borrel we'll have neon paint and blacklights, so put on an old/cheap white t-shirt and be ready to get dirty! And of course drunk, because we have a 100 beers for 50 cent, first come first serve! *The paint should come out in the washing machine, but better be safe.

Symposium: Made in Groningen

High up north lies the beautiful city of Groningen. The home of the University of Groningen and Study Association Cover for Artificial Intelligence and Computing Science. But Groningen is not only a hotspot for students and tourists, it also is home to a lot of innovative companies and startups. During this symposium on the 18th of May we want to give an exclusive insight into some of these companies. What do they do, and more importantly: how do they use artificial intelligence and computing science in their daily work. Everyone is welcome to join us, but registration is mandatory.
