The Tutoring System is about to launch!
After a long, long time of development the StudCee’s new and improved tutoring system is about to go live! Coming Monday you’ll all be able to access a candidate version of the system at www.tutoring.svcover.nl, and Thursday during the TAB we will celebrate the official release and most importantly: announce the winner of the naming contest!
The tutoring system replaces the old mailing list approach with a fresh looking website that allows people that need tutoring and people that would like to give tutoring to quickly find each other and get in touch. You can leave posts for your requests and offers and easily keep track of communications. All of this will be available starting next week.
So come and join our celebration during the TAB, and find out which name will decorate the site forever!
Map Your AI Study Programme
In december this year's version of Map your AI study programme will be organised. Did you enjoy this event last year, or felt it was useful? Do you want to tell the current second year students what your study programme looks like? Or maybe just convey your enthusiasm about your courses? Sign up as a speaker for this year by sending a mail to education@svcover.nl, or approach the board in person!
MYAISP 2017 will be held in the last week of December, exact time and location to be announced.
Long term plan
One of the points from our policy plan is (re-)instating the long term plan. For this we have checked what previous boards did about this and collected that information as far as it was still relevant. However we would love to get the input from our members and see what they think is important for Cover to be focusing on the coming 5 years. So if you have an idea or something you think is important to put in the long term plan please email me on chairman@svcover.nl!
BEST is looking for a new board
Do you want to work alongside 96 boards in Europe? Do you want to travel, gain experience while studying full time? BEST Groningen is looking for new board members to start in December. Volunteering at the Beta Career Day
The Beta Career Day is an event that aims to prepare students for their future career. The day is mainly oriented at first-year master students of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The students are welcome for coffee from 09:30 and at 10:00 the event will kick off with an interesting guest speaker. During the day various workshops and lectures will be given and students can get a professional LinkedIn picture taken or their CV checked. The programme will end at 16:45 and then we will finish the day with networking drinks.
To make sure everything runs smoothly during the event we will need a number of volunteers. The tasks of the volunteers will include ushering of the visitors and being present as doormen. Also, we will need two people who can take pictures during the day. The volunteers will have to be present from 09:30 until 16:45, afterwards they are, of course, welcome to stay for a drink and the opportunity to talk to the alumni. The volunteers will receive a free lunch and a gift voucher as a reward for their efforts. Furthermore, we will need some people who want to flyer before the event, for specific timeslots you can ask your board. Philips Innovation Award Seminar
We are looking for students and young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to enter the Philips
Innovation Award competition. Do you want to turn your idea into a successful start-up and perhaps
win €50,000,-? Come to our seminar to register your idea and learn more about the PHIA
competition. An inspiring speaker will spice things up, and those with guts will get the chance to
pitch their idea already. The best pitch wins a price!
