Week review

This Wednesday the SNiC: DisruptIT congress was held. Cover supplied the committee that organised it this year and it was really amazing! Most speakers were really intresting and it was very well organised. I would like to thank the committee for making this event into a big succes with a massive amount of 450 tickets sold!

Do you want to have a night of outdoorsy fun, join the WAMPEX! The WAMPEX is a puzzle route of about 25 km, through the beautiful nature of Frysia. This route is a great opportunity to challenge your puzzle solving skills and endurance together with your team. The activity starts in the evening and takes the whole night. [CAREER] Get There: Energy Data Hub

It's time for another career event!

Monday the 20th of November, Get There is coming to give a talk on the Energy Data Hub. They will be discussing the (AI)techniques they are using and the challenges they are facing, focusing on security, scalability and performance. Afterwards, there will be an interactive session, where they will be looking for input on these challenges from you!

The session will be ended with a borrel where we can discuss all your ideas.

Career Day 2017

Thursday 30th of November, 09:30 till 17:00, Zernike Campus

Just like previous years, this year a career day will be organized for the students of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. This year's Career Day will be organized by the Faculty of Science and Engineering in collaboration with the Beta Business Days. The event is aimed at the faculty's Master's students and is a preparation for your future career.

During this day you have the opportunity to discover what job suits your interests and skills best. Do you want to work at a company, the government, the media or the university as a research scientist, an entrepreneur, inventor, advisor, policy maker or science communicator? Or are you not sure what opportunities lie in store for you, outside academia? Various interesting presentations will be given and alumni will tell you about their careers to help you figure out your options and the paths open to you!

On top of that we will help you to improve your application, self presentation and communication skills so you will be fully prepared when the right opportunity comes along. There will be workshops to help you to find out who you are, to improve your soft skills and to present yourself. Please look around on the webpage for the workshops and presentations that are interesting to you.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to have your CV checked and to have a professional LinkedIn photo taken. We will end the day with networking drinks and the opportunity to talk to the alumni and representative of the companies and organzaitions taking part in our event.

Map Your AI Study Programme

In december this year's version of Map your AI study programme will be organised. Did you enjoy this event last year, or felt it was useful? Do you want to tell the current second year students what your study programme looks like? Or maybe just convey your enthusiasm about your courses? BEST is looking for a new board

Do you want to work alongside 96 boards in Europe? Do you want to travel, gain experience while studying full time? BEST Groningen is looking for new board members to start in December. Doing a board at BEST is only part time and it takes about 3-4 hours a week, some weeks more, some weeks less. Interested, email the current board at!"
