The world of Cyber Security today is full of hacking and, more importantly, it’s implications. In order to be a significant player in this field, TNO performs research in the fields of digital attacks, risk management and prevention. Fully understanding how a hacker works is a part of this research.
In this talk, Jan Kazemier, scientist at TNO Cyber Security & Robustness (and alumnus of Cover), will give a brief introduction into the world of hacking in practice.
Cover will provide a free lunch for everyone!

The Little LAMA (Lovely Active Member Activity) is coming up again. To thank all our active committee members for their hard work we would like to invite them to our game of living Cluedo! It will take place in the city center where we meet up in front of the police station and the game will be explained. At the end of the game everybody will meet up again at the Drie gezusters and we'll have a free drink. After that we will head to 't Gat to enjoy the monthly social!
Note that this is only for people who are in a committee of Cover!
Valentine Social

Valentines day is coming up soon and that means love is in the air! To prepare you for this day we will be doing a lollypop action. This means you can buy a lolly beforehand and write a card to go with it. During the social we will hand these out to the correct persons. So if you want to declare your love to your secret crush, want to send your girl/boyfriend a nice treat or just want to make a friend happy, make sure you don't forget to write your card and order your lollypop in time.
A lollypop will cost 1 euro and you have to order it before 2 February!
Ordering can be done by filling out the form in the Cover room and writing your message.
Paintball

Organizing without management
At Spindle the traditional hierarchical model of organization is replaced by a system called Holacracy. In the system, it is assumed that people work better if they're treated as adults and given the opportunity to organize themselves. The classical function building is replaced by an evolving system of different roles. People who work in roles generally have more responsibility for their tasks, which makes them more ambitious to reach the best result. [Career Month] Neural Networks for a Self-Driving Boat - Lunch Lecture by Xomnia

David Woudenberg is Xomnia's Data Scientist and project lead of their self-driving boat. During this talk he will explain the boat's transformation from a former lifeboat to a self-driving boat using neural network/deep learning technology. To use Artificial Intelligence technologies in our daily life makes this project challenging and exciting.

Alphabet Party

We survived the first month of the year already, the exams are over (luckily) and we are starting with a brand new semester, which means, brand new activities! One of these activities is the annual Alphabet Party.
What about it? Yearly we organise this party in collaboration with other study associations, this year we are with 18 in total. Every year a letter from the alphabet is picked and we think of a theme starting with this letter. You can base your outfit on the chosen letter.
This year the ‘M’ was selected, and the theme we made up is ‘Midnight Madness’. We hope you will all create the maddest outfits and come party with us on Thursday the 22nd of February. It promises to be an awesome night!
Tickets cost €5,- in presale and €6,50 at the doors and includes two drinks and free use of the cloakroom. Furthermore, you get 10% discount on your costume by showing your ticket at Firma Mulder.
