Dear members,

September is already half-way over! I hope you all have a great start in the new academic year so far. And if not, worry not! Cover has something very special for you. It is Cover's 25th birthday next week, and we celebrate big-time. The whole next week is filled with thrilling and interesting activities! So matter if you want social, sportive or educational events, every day there are different events. The 5^2 feast, the conference day or the Intergalactic Gala are only three examples of what is ahead of you. You can buy tickets or get more information go to lustrum.svcover.nl.

Last year, the StudCee created a tutoring system, CACTuS! There are many students who are always looking for a bit of extra help in their studies. Currently, they are looking for tutors for all first-year courses, specifically for Imperative Programming and Neurophysics.

Over the last weeks DisCover (Cover's magazine) has been delivered! If you have not received yours yet, you can come and pick one up at the Cover room. If you would prefer to read a digital version, then you can enjoy the pdf at discover.svcover.nl.

All the best,

Max

If you want to apply for a committee please email intern@svcover.nl. A resume or motivation is optional, so feel free to just tell him you are interested!

The ExCee (short for Excursion committee) is Cover's committee which organises the yearly excursion. So, if you like traveling, and organising this for your fellow peers, then sign up for this committee.

PubliciTee

The PubliciTee is the committee that creates and/or prints posters for you. Actually, we are the committee that you can call somewhere in between the moment you need a poster and the moment you want to print it. In that way, the quality of the Cover posters is assured and committees are able to focus on other tasks, without having to worry about posters.

ParenTee

The ParenTee is the committee responsible for showing the studies and university to students' parents. They do this by organising a great parents day where you can invite your parents to take a tour. If you want to show your parents or your peers parents around, sign up for this committee.

ComExA

Do you like to visit and talk to interesting companies? And are you enthusiastic about organizing nice lectures and workshops with them? Join the Committee of External Affairs and help Cover get its sponsor income for next year! Please mail extern@svcover.nl to apply.

Sympocee

Is there a topic of which you could never tire? You would like to hear about different experts from the field for a whole afternoon? Then organising a symposium is right up your street! The SympoCee organises a symposium every year for this very purpose, to educate Cover members on a wider range of topics

YearbookCee

The YearbookCee is very much self explanatory. They create the yearbook for every academic year. In this committee you get to decide the theme, design and create the content of the yearbook. You want a way to make your mark in Cover for years to come? The best place to do this is in the Yearbook.

Discover

As a member of the committee you are responsible for gathering, creating, and editing content, the lay-out of the magazine, and determining what goes into the magazine. We had a lot of fun creating it, and we are sure that you will too!

AC/DCee

AC/DC stands for Advanced Computing / Digitalisation Committee and if web management and bug fixing is your kind of thing then this is the committee for you!

ActiviTee

"ActiviTee" represents activities' committee. Every month, we organise at least three activities: a borrel every first Wednesday of the month in 't Gat van Groningen; a small activity; a big activity; and, besides this, we organise a big end of the year party in December and a special big activity before the summer break.

LCDee

Do you like gaming at a LAN party, and programming assignments that make you feel like a wizkid when you finally solve them? Then maybe the LCDee might be for you; they organise LAN-parties and other events such as "Crash and Compile".

SporTee

The goal of the SporTee is to keep the members of Cover in shape by organising sporty and fun activities. Examples of such activities are dodge ball, ice skating and paint-balling. Would you like to organise activities with a sporty character, join the SporTee!

Studcee

The StudCee is the committee that provides study related activities for Cover. They give study support lectures for courses in the degree programme, workshops to develop skills as well as managing an exams and summaries database. They have recently created CACTuS (Cover's Advanced Course Tutoring System) which allows our members to find tutors easily. Their goal is to make sure that members have the tools needed to pass their courses while making the sessions as engaging and fun for the students as they possibly can.
