New term, new conditions

The dawn of a new term is approaching! The weather is becoming more spring-y, which of course means more sun and warmth outside! Disgusting! To distract you from the joys of nature and the optimistic feeling of a new term, we created a Minecraft server to help you motivate to stay inside. Join our Discord server to gain access to the Minecraft server and feel like its 2011 all over again.

Next week, we do ...

Staff Lunch and Quiz

Do you know your professors? Do the professors know you? Are you a Cover history buff? Do you know your way around the FSE? If you are confident and resounding "yes" to all these questions come to the Cover Room for the Staff lunch and win the quiz!

Open Board Meeting

Are you interested in doing a board year at Cover? Are you still unsure or have more questions about it? At the board interest night the current board will be present and available for questions. Come have a chat with them and have a beer. The setting will be casual, so if you're even slightly interested just come by and have a fun and informative evening!

The next day, we have a regular normal board meeting, except that it isn't! You can join our meeting and experience the board work in action. Join us at the open board meeting to see what board work is all about.

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

RoomCee: The Cover Room is the beating heart of Cover. The RoomCee keeps the room open and organised. You get to decide how the interior looks and you are in charge of the Thursday Afternoon Drinks every week.

HEROcee: This is Cover's safest committee. The members of this committee can be asked to perform as an ERO at several activities. If something happens around the Cover Room we can of course also be of help. Apply if you are interested in being a true HERO.

PropaganDee: The PropaganDee is the committee that designs, creates and prints posters for Cover. They assure the quality of Cover's promotion.

Studcee: The StudCee is the committee that provides study related activities for Cover. They give study support lectures for courses in the degree programme, workshops to develop skills as well as managing an exams and summaries database. They have recently created a tutoring system which allows our members to find tutors easily.

Nice to know

GEBC: The Groningen Engineering Business Center (GEBC) is a center associated to the Faculty of Science and Engineering which primary goal is to introduce students to companies in the North of the Netherlands and vice versa. One of the things we organise is matching of students and companies in internships, graduation projects and/or research projects. We would like to know what a student is looking for when searching for such a project. We would be very grateful if you could fill in this short questionnaire.

Nacht van Eindhoven: This year CQM organizes the Nacht van Eindhoven once again. During the night of May 16 - May 17, student teams will compete with each other in the area of data science, applied statistics and operations research. The teams will be challenged by four assignments that are inspired by the daily work of CQM. Solving the assignments requires a combination of advising, programming, creativity, analytical thinking and speed to obtain the best solution. The three best teams are awarded with eternal fame and a cash prize. More information can be found on here or on Facebook.
