Full week ahead!

Hey all! This week we'll do a lot of socializing, starting with Prominent in de Tent on Tuesday. For just 20 euros you can drink an unlimited amount of beer, wine, soda and binnenlands gedestilleerd (domestic liquors)! You can buy your ticket in the Cover Room. For more information about this awesome party, you can check out their Facebook page!

On Wednesday there is an info meeting organized by the ComExa, where they will explain what they do as a committee and why this is interesting for you! That very evening the socializing continues during the monthly social at 't Gat van Groningen. This time the theme is Oktoberfest so make sure to dress up and impress! We'll finish the week of activities in the good old Cover Room (0041a) with the Bocktober TAD, see you there!

Last but not least: the sign-ups for the SNiC symposium ResilIT are opened! SNiC is a congress organisation that organizes the yearly national student conference on IT. The event will be in Amersfoort, however they have arranged for busses to drive us to the event and back to Groningen. You can sign up on the [Cover site] for just 7,50 euro! For more information, you can visit their website.

JoeJoe,

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

ComExA: ComExA stands for Committee of External Affairs. This committee supports the commissioner of external affairs by making and keeping contact with companies. This is important for both the members and the association. Cover needs sponsorship to do all kind of awesome things. You get the chance to get to know a company and maybe even find a company for a final project or for a job.

Language Buddy Committee: This new committee will be all about getting international students familiarized with Groningen and the Dutch culture. The buddies, who are members of this committee, are organizing several events for their international first-year students throughout the first year. Coupled with university-class Dutch lessons for the international students, this will enable first-years to put those freshly-learned Dutch phrases into action together with their buddies. Are you a Dutch student and would you like to show someone around in Groningen? Please consider joining the Language Buddy Committee!

SympoCee: A symposium is a big event consisting of multiple speakers and activities surrounding a topic. Have you enjoyed events like the SNiC or the Career Day? Then, organising a symposium might be just right for you! You will learn many life skills, like how it is to find speakers and how the finances behind a big event like this work, and of course, how it is to work within a group of other students. The SympoCee is the committee that organises this symposium every year.

ExCee: This committee organises a multi-city trip for usually more than a week! Joining this committee means to design and plan for the perfect trip for you and your fellow members. You decide on where to go and how to spend the money. You will experience how it is to work towards an extraordinarily rewarding experience, while making friends on the go. For more information and inspiration check out the website of the previous ExCee (Excursion Committee).

MxCee: Similiarly to the ExCee, the MxCee (Mega Excursion Committee) organises a trip spanning cities, countries and (sometimes) continents! Is organising an ExCee too easy for you? Then you might want to consider joining this committee: a trip that is longer, farther and more expensive!

Nice to know

Knaek: Maybe you've never heard of it, maybe you've always wanted one, this is your opportunity to receive a free Knaek pas! A Knaek pas is a student-only pas which gives you discounts al around the city. At restaurants shops, bars and many more locations. You can use this pas infinately many times throughout the whole year. Interested? Pick yours up at the Cover Room, but be quick because there is only a limited amount!
