Newsletter

Long time no see!

Hey all! It's been a while since I wrote the last newsletter, but I'm happy to say that we're back! Some very nice new initiatives have been set up, for example by the LCDee who are hosting a weekly tournament. After the great success of the Age of Empires tournament last weekend, they'll be hosting the League of Legends tournament this weekend, so don't miss out! Additionally, the board will try to entertain you with a weekly hour of catching up, games, music and a lot more during the Cover Radio, live streamed via the Cover Discord. This Tuesday, the BSc will host an online pubquiz where you and your friends can show off whilst keeping a safe distance, 'see' you there!

As you have possibly noticed, the deadline for applying for board XXIX has been extended! A board year at Cover offers you many things. Not only will you get the opportunity to develop yourself in ways that will help you throughout the rest of your career, you'll be able to experience this with a great group of people, having loads of fun! If you have any questions, the board is available for grabbing an online cup of coffee at any time!

On a separate note, as many of you probably have more time to spend on side projects, we're currently looking for people that would like to contribute to working out the role of the Commissioner of Educational Affairs within the Cover board. You'd be joining a working group, where you can really add value to Cover's future!

Last but not least, are you already following us on Instagram? Since we can't see you regularly anymore, we'll update you on all things going on through our stories! If you have any nice initiatives that you'd like to see happening, send in an idea or contact the board to see how we can put the plan in action!

Student support for mental wellbeing & help with studying

In Nestor, you can find the tap Study Info, which is where you can find the following initiatives of the Student Service Centre (SSC):

  • a free study group, in which you get connected with a couple of students and a trainer to motivate each other and make a planning for the week.

  • a free thesis group, which is the same idea, but focused on writing a thesis.

  • a free course that teaches you how to deal with postponing stuff and a lack of motivation during the corona crisis.

  • a free one-on-one conversation with a trainer from the Student Service Center that will give you personal advice on how to effectively study during the corona crisis.

In the tap Study Info, you can also find the student psychologists and the initiative All Ears if students need someone to talk to. Study Advisors are also always available for a short chat or study related advice.
