Brought to you by Groningen's wind

Hey hey all,

I hope everyone is having the time of their lives during this wonderful exam period! However, if this is not the case, I bet you want to escape from it and go do something more entertaining. And as you surely know, the best way to practise escaping is by participating in RDW's Escape Room on the 3rd of February! Don't let the opportunity escape!

Earlier this week we had yet another Cover Radio! Talking about lots of nothing was good fun and I'm slowly getting addicted to ASMR. Pls don't judge.

That's more or less it! Ah I'm just kidding, I left the most important thing for last:

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

YearbookCee: The year 2021 is definitely one for the books...the Yearbooks, that is! Do you want to help document events inside and outside of Cover? Are you interested in editing, making beautiful layouts, and gathering written pieces and pictures? Then apply for YearbookCee now!

IlluminaTee: If the words talks, bootcamps, and researchers make your heart flutter, then look no further! The IlluminaTee organizes educational events related to AI/CS/HMC, together with the Commissioner of Educational Affairs.

Complaints Committee: Are you a great listener and diplomat? Then the Complaints Committee might be the committee for you. They listen to all parties involved in an interpersonal conflict and come up with a proposed solution.

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Amber, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs!

Nice to know

Interested in Data Science?: Join the data science symposium committee! Curious about how it intertwines with (applied) physics and astronomy? Together with T.F.V. Francken, Sirius A and FMF, you will organise a data science symposium for October 2021! Interested and want to know more? Send an email to the board! Applications are open until 14th February.

Startup Competition: Are you interested in learning everything you need to create a startup business while having the chance to win €400? Then the startup competition is all you are looking for! Due to the success of last year, the startup competition will be hosted again on the 10th of february. In this competition you will get bootcamps on product design, marketing/business plans and pitch training. The competition will be based on a patent provided by the FSE. Registrations are now open on our website. You can sign up as a team or alone so don’t hesitate and sign up now!

Tweakers AI Meetup: On February 11, Tweakers (largest tech website in the Netherlands) is organizing a meet-up on artificial intelligence. You can register for a free ticket and 10 (inter) national speakers will attend the event!

Online self-support: For many students, an online and anonymous approach is a first step towards mental support. Mirro’s self-help modules provide you with online support if you are going through a difficult time. There are several topics you can choose from, e.g. anxiety, work stress or worrying. These e-health modules are also very suitable to support you with topics such as alcohol, gaming or mourning.
