Wait, it's already February?!

Hi all!

Time is flying, just like it did during the RDW Online Escape Room we had last Wednesday! It was great fun, and a team from Cover won the 1st set of prizes!

This week we have an exciting Lunch Lecture coming up on Tuesday in cooperation with Picnic.app! The lecture will be focused on the "7 Principles of start-up decision-making" and the logistics of their distribution system!

Later in the week, we have another edition of the legendary Crash & Compile, where spaghetti code will be written and drinks will be drunk! If you sign up fast, you will even receive free drinks and snacks at your doorstep!

This newsletter is getting quite lengthy, so I'll be brief with the last one: We got a Chess tournament coming up for all skill levels! Both students and staff are invited!

Ok, this is getting super super lengthy but I gotta put this up: If you are feeling lonely during these difficult times, check out our Buddy system. Feel free to also share this with friends who might be feeling a bit down lately ❤️

Toedeloe,

Leo

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

YearbookCee: The year 2021 is definitely one for the books...the Yearbooks, that is! Do you want to help document events inside and outside of Cover? Are you interested in editing, making beautiful layouts, and gathering written pieces and pictures? Then apply for YearbookCee now!

IlluminaTee: If the words talks, bootcamps, and researchers make your heart flutter, then look no further! The IlluminaTee organizes educational events related to AI/CS/HMC, together with the Commissioner of Educational Affairs.

DataDump: Hello dear interested members. Do you want to start building a data portfolio while doing fun experiments and trying out different informative representations of data? Then this is your committee!

Nice to know

Interested in Data Science?: Join the data science symposium committee! Curious about how it intertwines with (applied) physics and astronomy? Together with T.F.V. Francken, Sirius A and FMF, you will organise a data science symposium for October 2021! Interested and want to know more? Send an email to the board! Applications are open until 14th February.

GCBD learning communities: GDBC (Groningen Digital Business Center) is organising a series of learning communities on topics such as Agile, Blockchain and Digitalisation and Stustainability. Participants will also receive a certificate ;)

Online self-support: For many students, an online and anonymous approach is a first step towards mental support. Mirro’s self-help modules provide you with online support if you are going through a difficult time. There are several topics you can choose from, e.g. anxiety, work stress or worrying. These e-health modules are also very suitable to support you with topics such as alcohol, gaming or mourning.
