Newsletter

The first delayed Newsletter, yay!

Hi hi!

Welcome to the first late Newsletter! I'm really sorry for not supplying you with the weekly amount of randomness in time. The people writing the jokes, making the agenda, and coordinating the whole newsletter business were on a strike. Everything is okay now (almost no one was fired).

Coming up this week, we have an internationalization activity on Friday! If you want to enjoy some goodies with someone from a different cultural background, this is your chance!

The member weekend is also creeping up on us! Come join us for a weekend of online and in-person activities that will absolutely revolutionize the way you think of our reality (or maybe not). It'll be fun.

♟️Last but certainly not least! ♟️

Are you up for a chess challenge? Do you think you can solve 100 chess puzzles in 90 minutes? There is an interesting study being done in our university where you might be able to contribute! Check the 'nice to know' below for more information or go directly to the experiment's page(requirements are below).

Toedeloe,

Leo

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

MxCee: What is even better than an excursion? A MEGA excursion! Think big, bigger, biggest; the sky is the limit! Join the MxCee if you want to take the association to Mars or maybe the moon, or if we're being a bit more realistic: a cool place somewhere on earth, like New Zealand (2015) or the west coast of USA (2017).

PropaganDee: This committee creates beautiful promotional materials for Cover's events, that are displayed as posters and social media posts (such as our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn). If you have a passion for graphic design and want to flex your creative muscle, this is the one for you!

SporTee: The SporTee is the committee that makes sure we get away from our desks every now and then! They have organized many different activities, ranging from a lowkey game of ultimate frisbee to bigger outings such as paintball. Do you have crazy, sporty ideas for fun events? Then this is the one for you!

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Amber, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs!

DataDump Experiment!: It’s time for phase 2 of DataDump’s facial attractiveness experiment, in which we try to uncover whether masks make people more or less attractive. Pictures of people with and without masks have been gathered, and now we are looking for people to rate them! If you want to participate, you can find the link to the experiment above. It will take about 3 minutes. The experiment only works on PC.

The data gathered in the experiment will be anonymised, and no statements will be made about individual attractiveness ratings. We are only interested in whether there is a general difference in attractiveness when people do or don’t wear a mask.
