Happy thanksgiving!

Hello everyone!

No matter if you did not celebrate Thanksgiving at all, you cooked a full dinner for your family and friends, or you simply just enjoyed the Turkey Day event in Animal Crossing, I hope everyone had a great week!

In the upcoming week we also of course have more events planned! Firstly is this year's first iteration of the Cover Talks. This time, Lazar Popov and Sander Kaatee will be coming by to have an educational talk about NFTs and cryptocurrency. It should be noted that they are not there to give financial advice, but will just discuss the costs and benefits regarding these ventures.

Then on Wednesday there will once again be a Sitdown Social! It will take place at Gelkinge 40 and be Sinterklaas themed this time around. As always, join in and have a chill time with your friends while enjoying some free drinks!

To keep with the Sinterklaas theme, this year it will once again be possible to do some schoenzetten in the Cover room! Throughout the entire upcoming week it will be possible for people to leave a shoe behind in the room, either a real one or a crafted shoe, and then who knows? Maybe Sinterklaas will stop by on December 5h and give everyone that put out a shoe something nice to enjoy!

And that is it for this week! I am gonna go back to my Black Friday shopping, and will see y'all next week with another newsletter!

Hasta la vista,

Alissa

We want you to be in a committee!

A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

SympoCee: The SympoCee is the committee that organizes a symposium every year. The symposium is a big and important educational event that happens once every year. A bunch of interesting speakers will come talk about a topic related to AI or CS. Joining this committee means that you will be in charge of organising our next symposium!

LCDee: The LANs, Computers and Drinking committee is the committee responsible for organizing the yearly LAN parties, fun gaming tournaments, and the Crash & Compile, which is a programming competition involving a lot of free beer. Next to that they also moderate the Cover Discord.

ExCee: The ExCee has only one task. Together they try to organize an awesome trip within Europe. This trip involves company visits, university visits, and the general opportunity to experience some culture.

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Zoe, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs!

Nice to know

The carreer tab on the Cover website is a great place to look if you are searching for a job or an internship! It allows you to easily look through all types of vacancies from all types of companies, and who knows? Maybe your dream job can be found right there!

Cover is not only there for fun, but we are also there to aid! This is why the Cover room is also supplied with some basic necessities like paracetamol and feminine hygiene products that you can come pick up in times of need.
