Newsletter

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone,

We're back! I hope everyone had a great Christmas break and was able to relax and recharge before the upcoming exams.

This week will have a rather short newsletter, but I would like to ask everyone to read it fully. Down in the nice to know section there is a selection of interesting initiatives and events you could partake in! And two of them are also very sustainable, making them even more exciting!

We currently only have one upcoming event, but it is an important one! Next week there will be a General Assembly. A General Assembly is a meeting to which every member (and only those) is invited to discuss the future and current state of the association. All major decisions are made at General Assemblies, so, needless to say, it is important that as many members as possible are present. Please join us during this important event!

And that was it! I would like wish everyone the best of luck with exam preparations, and I will see you again next week!

Hasta la vista,

Alissa

Nice to know

On behalf of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Lectorate Purposeful Entrepreneurship (https://www.nhlstenden.com/onderzoek/betekenisvol-ondernemen), under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Tatiana Ciff, we, Jildert Nadema, Ilse Hoeksma and Falko Schouten, are conducting a research study on IT/ICT students’ view on the position of women in IT/ICT study courses and workplaces. In the literature (CBS, 2021), it is reported that only about 16% of employees in the IT/ICT industry in the Netherlands are women. Hence, we are conducting this survey to investigate IT/ICT students’ perspective on why women are less likely to choose an IT/ICT study course and pursue a career in this field.

The survey consists of 18 questions, and it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to answer them. Would you please be so kind to fill it in? The survey can be found here. Thank you!
