A Well Deserved Break

Hello hello,

Now that the exams are done I for one am looking forward to decompressing with our upcoming social activities. I hope you are feeling splendid and ready for the next block!

We are starting things up on Tuesday with a Coffee Morning organised by IluminaTee. Of course there will not only be coffee, there will also be an array of tea and sweets.

Following this, ActiviTee has a Sit Down Social organised for us at Baxbier. Make sure to sign up for it as spots are limited. We guarantee one free drink and - of course - good conversation.

If you are taking OOP next block or have always wanted to figure out how Git works, the Git Workshop hosted by StudCee on Thursday might be the right way to start of your journey.

At 16:00 on Thursday there will be a TAD (what a surpise ☺️). The theme is still secret but be sure to be there to grab a free drink and take a well deserved break.

Finally, on Friday, SustainibiliTee is organising a Brainstorm. If you have ideas on how to make Cover more sustainable or are interested in taking part in this conversation, drop by the Cover Room.

I wish you a great start into the next block.

Auf Wiedersehen, Jellybean!

We want you to be in a committee!

⚠️ Here is a cool thingy for our new members: Ever heard of a committee? A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

Every year, Cover organises a Symposium. Symposiums are one-day events that are filled with great talks on a range of many different topics. The last Symposium was on the topic of A.R.T. - Accountability, Responsibility, Transparency. Are you passionate about any particular talks? Interested in coming into contact with talkers passionate in their field? Join SympoCee to help organise this unique event.

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Luca, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs!

Survey about Financial Worries and Student Debt

The level of student debt interest has risen sharply. As a result, a large group of young adults have to spend several hundred euros extra every year. This money is often desperately needed for other things, such as groceries or rent. This can lead to financial worries or problems making ends meet. The municipality of Groningen is investigating this.

You can make yourselves heard via this questionnaire. The survey is still open until the 14th of November. Unfortunately it is only available in Dutch.

(Monty) Python

The programming language Python was not named after the snake but after the British comedy series "Monty Python's Flying Circus"
