SNiC is coming

Oh hello there,

Are you as excited for this week as I am? Believe it or not, we are finally going to the SNiC! On Wednesday morning we will be leaving for Utrecht together with the study association ASCI to go to CreativIT. Prepare for a full day of interesting speakers and topics ranging from Deepfakes to learning how to Code like a DJ. On top of this, we have you covered 😉 with breakfast on the bus and we'll again be having a Bingo to play during the conference.

But, this is not all! On Monday, FCG is hosting the third lecture for their Machine Learning Fortnight. In this one, Weaviate: Vector Databases, you can discover the secrets behind vector embeddings and their applications, all while gaining insights into recommendation systems and zero-shot classification with large language models (LLMs). As with the other ones, you can join this, even if you are not taking part in the competition.

Sinterklaas has arrived last weekend, so it is time to leave our shoes around, in the hopes, that a present will appear in it. During next weeks Schoenzetten TAD you will have the opportunity to create and decorate a paper shoe to leave in the room. Perhaps you will find something sweet inside the next day, who knows.

Are you struggeling with getting used to LaTeX? On Thursday and Friday StudCee is hosting a workshop to help you out. Here you will get some time to practice and get help with the things you are struggeling with.

On Friday the long awaited Machine Learning Fortnight Finale is finally here, after two weeks of intense competition and innovation. The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony and the top teams will be able to give short, captivating presentations about their projects.

Afterwards, we will end the week on a high note with the JumpXL Evening organised by ActiviTee. Trampolining is a unique skill that requires a lot of spring in your step, so make sure to sign up and practice!

Auf Wiedersehen, Jellybean!
