The 🍬 is here!

Good to see you, how have you been? I am great, thank you. What an exciting week we had, finding out who the next board of Cover is going to be. And I am looking forward to this week to come.

While the beginning of the week is chill, we have some fun activities coming up towards the end of it! The first is a workshop, by YER: Know your qualities. Here you can explore what your unique abilities are and maybe you’ll discover valuable skills, which will make you look good in front of a potential employer.

Afterwards you can look forward to a CAT – uuuuh, I mean TAD of course! You know how it works. Don’t miss out on a good atmosphere and some free drinks.

But, this is not all... We have been working on organising the annual Alphabet Party together with multiple associations, just for you. The theme this time titles Tropical Treasure. Dress code is anything starting with the letter T! With a ticket (at most 13€) you will get 2 free drinks and an unforgettable night.

Friday, we will have the opportunity to lean into our cultural side. IlluminaTee is taking us to Amsterdam for the day, with free tickets into the Rijksmuseum. Don't miss your opportunity to make lifelong memories with your friends. Now if that doesn’t sound amazing, I don’t know what.

This is it for me today, but don’t worry – I’ll be back soon.

Auf Wiedersehen, Jellybean!

We want you to be in a committee!

⚠️ Here is a cool thingy for our new members: Ever heard of a committee? A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

Every year, Cover organises a Symposium. Symposiums are one-day events that are filled with great talks on a range of many different topics. Did you enjoy the last Symposium? Are you passionate about any particular talks? Interested in coming into contact with talkers passionate in their field? Join SympoCee to help organise this unique event next year.

Do you want to learn how to make and maintain a website and other digital infrastructure? AC/DCee is the committee for you. Whether you already know a lot about web development or want to learn about it, this committee is interesting for everyone. Do you want the tasks of fixing bugs, redesigning some of the webpage, or undertaking a project to further Cover's digital infrastructure, you can do it all in AC/DCee!

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Luca, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs!

MIITN Networking Mixer

On Thursday 13th June from 16:00 to 18:00 at Het Groot Handelshuis Make it in the North will be having a networking mixer focusing on the fields of tech, AI, and all things digital.

MIITN is looking for new ways to connect Dutch companies with international job seekers to make it easier for companies to hire the best talent. With the weather getting warmer, they thought it was a great time to gather companies and talent from the digital/tech space in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe for some drinks & networking. They’ll kickoff the afternoon with a (brief) keynote speech and then help everyone ease into a few rounds of networking. Most importantly - drinks are free!

Entrance is free but requires prior registration as there are a limited number of spots available. You can also find more information on the website.

Long candy cane

The longest candy cane ever made was over 18 m long and was created in Alabama in 2002.
