Two more weeks!

The holidays are finally upon us. This week Sinterklaas came through the Netherlands and delivered some presents. I hope you all enjoy the presents you got, or the time you may have spent with friends and family. A few more weeks, and we'll finally have the christmas holidays!!

Working towards the holidays, we have a few fun events in store for you. Today we will be setting up our trusty switch for the Super Smash Bros Activity. Come by for a beer, some pizza and a lot of fun.

On the Monday the 9th, we will kick the morning off with a Student & Staff Coffee Morning. This is a perfect opportunity to socialize with the university staff, so make sure to drop by the Cover room.

Later on Monday, we will join together in the Cover room to celebrate Sinterklaas by doing a Sinterklaas Gift Swap. This event is filled with fun, uncertainty and lots of laughter. This will surely get you in the jolly holiday mood.

On Tuesday the 10th Unitas is welcoming us for our Sit Down Social - Christmas Sweater Edition. You are welcome to have a drink with us, play some board games and socialize in general.

Next week you will hear from me again, for now: Enjoy the holiday mood, listen to some good Christmas music and spend time with your friends and family!

See you at the bbq🍖🍺!

Julian

We want you to be in a committee!

⚠️ Here is a cool thingy for our new members: Ever heard of a committee? A committee is a group of friends that work towards a common goal. You can learn about all sorts of topics such as budgeting, planning, sponsoring, and much more! See the website for a complete overview of committees that are looking for members!

IntroCee is renewing! IntroCee is the committee in charge of organising the Introduction Week. The Intro Week is the first week of uni that is filled with events for the first years so that thea can discover the university, Cover and to facilitate meeting new people. The main events during the week are the introductory barbecue and of course the IntroCamp: the weekend of fun and games! If you enjoyed your IntroCamp in your year and want to share that experience with the future first years, you can do so through IntroCee! Even if you didn't attend the IntroCamp, IntroCee is a great committee to make an unforgettable event for the first years!

Do you want to learn how to make and maintain a website and other digital infrastructure? AC/DCee is the committee for you. Whether you already know a lot about web development or want to learn about it, this committee is interesting for everyone. Do you want the tasks of fixing bugs, redesigning some of the webpage, or undertaking a project to further Cover's digital infrastructure, you can do it all in AC/DCee!

Are you interested in joining a committee? Don't hesitate to contact Phillip, our Commissioner of Internal Affairs.

Nice to know

Toy dinosaurs

Did you know that since plastic is made from crude oil, and crude oil is made from dinsaur remains, that toy dinosaurs are actually made from real dinosaurs?

Real dinosaurs

While we are on the topic of dinosaurs, let's discuss modern day dinosaurs. A lot of animals have common dna with dinosarus, but the closest living relatives of the Tyrannosaurus rex are the chicken and the ostrich.
