Newsletter

Welcome!

Hello everyone, you are currently reading the second edition of the Cover Staff Newsletter. I hope many more editions will follow and continue to improve. I still am open to feedback and if there is anything you would like to see changed or if you have any ideas about what you would like to see please contact me at education@svcover.nl. If you know anyone who wants to receive this newsletter as well, they should also reach out to me there.

Looking Back

As the board we have for the last few months been working on implementing the staff membership. This is now at a stage where we have our website committee working on adding this to our infrastructure.

Lastly, we have also reinstated our bookstore. So your students will now once again be able to get discounts on their book purchases when going through Cover. The new platform is WO4YOU, and we are excited to be working with them.

Looking Forward

In the coming months, there are quite a few events coming up that would be very interesting for staff to be a part of. As always, we would love to see you at the Coffee Morning happening on the 4th of March.

However, more importantly, the annual symposium has been announced for the 20th of February. The theme this year will be renAIsSanCe. The focus of the talks will be on the different ways in which AI is being deployed in different domains, from big corporations to academia. If you're interested in attending the symposium don't hesitate to send me an email.

There is also another iteration of the student and staff lunch happening. This time we will be enjoying a nice lunch buffet in Brasserie Zernike. Providing a platform for interesting and more informal interaction with students. The event will be happening on the 21st of February from 12:00-14:00. If you would like to attend send me an email and I will put you on the list!

I hope you enjoyed the updates from Cover. If there is anything you like to see or you want to collaborate with us on don't hesitate to get in contact.

All the best,

Teun Boersma
